A look at existing solutions

Data leaks Data leaks
Password managers have been breached and compromised. Several cloud-based password managers have suffered data breaches, exposing their users' passwords.
Master Password Storage Master Password Storage
The master password is stored in some form. Traditional managers often indicate when the master password is incorrect. This can help a hacker know that they are on the right track and encourage them to continue.

Why Mistikee?

Let's compare Mistikee with other password managers:
This is what a hacker sees when trying to access a normal manager:

attempt 1: Access denied
attempt 2: Access denied
attempt 3: Access denied
...
attempt ?: Access granted

The hacker quickly knows whether or not he has found the correct master password with each attempt.
This is what a hacker sees when he asks Mistikee for a password:

attempt 1: b41nGq2h
attempt 2: A671zmRT
attempt 3: e5u0S9fI
...
attempt ?: p8kv38Nw

Each time the hacker tries, he gets an answer but he has no idea if it's the right one.

How is this possible?

Mistikee offers a new way to manage your passwords

Mistikee offers a new way to manage your passwords: even if your data falls into the wrong hands, it remains inherently protected.

Mistikee does not know your master password

Your master password should have no meaning.

Your master password, like any password, should ideally be a long string of random characters. Avoid using proper nouns and common words as much as possible.

Use password generation as much as possible, even for existing accounts. Only save passwords if you cannot change them (e.g., building access codes, shared Wi-Fi...).

Your questions.

Why would I need a password manager?

Do you:
  • use the same password everywhere or with slight variations?
  • use a proper noun or common word in your passwords?
  • replace a few letters with special characters, as in "P@ssw0rd"?
  • add "0!" to the end of your passwords to include "at least one number and one special character"?

If you see yourself in these situations, be aware that hackers have anticipated these common practices and incorporate them into automated tools to crack passwords quickly. By using these methods, you inadvertently make their job easier and risk exposing your personal data.

I have nothing interesting to hide, why would a hacker be interested in me?

Even if you think you have nothing to hide, a hacker could hack your email and impersonate you to scam your close contacts. They might send fraudulent messages to your contacts, soliciting money or sensitive information in your name. Therefore, it’s essential to protect your passwords to avoid this type of situation.

A master password to protect my passwords, isn’t that just shifting the problem?

Unlike traditional password managers, Mistikee never stores your master password in any form. Therefore, when someone enters a master password, Mistikee never indicates whether it is correct. This makes brute-force attacks much harder, if not entirely ineffective.

Are my data stored on a server?

No, your data is never stored on any server; it is only stored on your devices. However, it passes through a server if you sync your devices, but is never stored there. End-to-end encryption is used in this case.

Do I have to pay again for another subscription?

No. You can use Mistikee for free without any time limit and only pay once to unlock the full version.
